Exercise Ball Pump
Picking the
Best Exercise Ball Pump
First an Exercise Ball can be known by
many names, Stability Ball, Swiss Ball. Fitness Ball,
Yoga Ball or Abs Ball. They are all the same and have the function of balancing
on them
while
carrying out an exercise routine. This has the effect of requiring muscles to stabilise the body while you do
the Exercise routine and thus improve the effect of the workout.
An
underinflated Exercise Ball will not be as effective so it is important to pick a decent pump
suitable for an Exercise Ball. Many Exercise Balls will come with a pump but most of these will be very slow
hand or foot pumps which do not last long.
Types of Exercise Ball Pump.
There
are three types, Electric Air Exercise Ball Pumps, Floor Exercise Ball Pumps and Hand
Exercise Ball Pumps.
The
Electric Air Pumps used for Exercise Balls are very quick but require an electric socket and are very noisy.
They are generally not designed as Exercise Ball Pumps but are general purpose so would be useful if you have a
number of items about to pump up such as mattresses. You need to be especially sure that these come with the
right adaptor for your Exercise Ball or Stability Ball.
The
Floor Air Pumps made for Exercise Balls or Gym Ball are in general the best choice. These will come with a range
of adaptors to fit most types of Exercise Ball, Fitness Ball or Stability Ball. Most importantly these will
inflate both on the up and down stroke and you will easily get your Exercise Ball up to full pressure within a
couple of minutes. They have the advantage of being cheaper than Electric Exercise Ball
Pumps.
Hand
Air Pumps for Exercise Balls are the last possibility. These have the one advantage that they are a lot lighter
and easier to travel with than the other options. However be aware that it will take a lot of strokes with this
Exercise Ball Pump to get your Exercise Ball up to pressure.
